Handm@de Winchester will soon be here, July 5th to be exact, and I've been busy making stock for it. Before I know it the show will be tomorrow and I'll be completely unprepared so before the panic sets in I want to know that all is well at 23Beechhill.
While sat at my kitchen table I was having a think (I know it doesn't happen very often) and I happened to hone in on my poor old back door key fob. Gosh, how sad is it ? Too sad to show you on here. I think it's a cat or maybe it's some other animal. Whatever it is it's in a sorry old state. I thought to myself "I really must sort that out and make a replacement".
Small things seem to go down well at the shows so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and make some key fobs for the show as well as a replacement to brighten up our back door.
I've used a mixture of free motion stitchery, and hand embroidery. The twine on the tree key fobs gives a more rustic feel.
Being inexpensive, quirky and not to mention practical, I'm hoping they'll be popular.
We have keys for the back door, garage door and the shed door and I think they make a nice alternative to those metal sort.

I don't know about you but I keep all my bits and bobs all over the place. They might all be in the same room but I've got tins, boxes, bags ... all stuffed full of ribbons, buttons, bits of bondaweb, felt and threads. This little beauty was given to me by a friend. It belonged to an elderly lady who now lives in a care home and didn't have room for it.
Isn't it lovely. Look at those pull'y out'y drawers. How much can I stuff in there ?
Loads and loads and loads and loads ... is the answer

It came complete with a selection of old threads and pins, some of which I'll be able to use.
I'm not sure how old it is but it does have 'Foreign' printed on the bottom :) Wherever it came from and however old it is, it's a lovely box and I'll be putting it to good use.

Thanks Alex ! Yep, they are in keeping with the dog thingies (still haven't settled on a name yet).
I'm trying to think along the more practical lines of things to make.
I'm suffering big time with my hayfever at the mo so my mind is a bit fuzzy ...

Those fobs are a stroke of genius - I'm sure you'll do well with them.
Lovely box. I've still got some tins of my grandmothers - and they still contain her buttons and threads.
