Today was a funny old day. Some positive things have happened but a really scary thing happened too. And that is where my belief in Guardian Angels come in.
What started off as a lovely jaunt through the woods at 'The Lookout' in the sunshine ended with a battered, cut and bruised Boo. She has been riding her bike for a while now but within the safety of our garden so if she fell off it wasn't the end of the world. But today, she experienced the more dangerous side of riding your bike.
Bless her she was so excited about taking her bike to the woods with friends and all was going well until she found herself whizzing down a slope. It was so deceiving, we didn't realise it was so steep until it was too late. I was screaming 'Break Tilly, break sweetheart'.
The bike started wobbling, Tilly's legs were swaying about because they'd come off the peddles and I could tell she was desperately trying to not fall off.
But it happened ... all in slow motion. It was horrible, really horrible, really, really horrible. I thought that was it, she'll have no skin left on her face or arms. Myself and my two lovely friends sprinted down to the bottom of the slope (not that easy with a pair of Fit Flops on) and I wanted to scoop her up straight away but my friend said not to, we had to make sure she hadn't broken anything.
She was screaming and I was terrified to look at her for fear of what injuries she'd have. As it was, although she had a really nasty cut on her chin, a badly bruised and grazed elbow, a big graze across her tummy, a bloodied thumb and little finger and a pedal indent in her leg - she was OK.
How on earth could that be ? I hate to think of the speed she reached. I really expected her to have a broken arm and terrible grazing and cuts on her face as she fell face first. Perhaps even a tooth missing.
But no. I really do believe someone was protecting her. Looking after her. Damage limitation. Those angel wings are big buggers, big enough to wrap around a child.
I carried her back to the main area to find the first aid staff and she was soooooooo brave. We got her cleaned up and everything seemed a lot better after a Mr. Man ice-cream. She's tucked up in bed, fast asleep, and I'm sure she'll be very sore and stiff tomorrow so we'll have a very quiet day.
Bless my Boo and bless her Guardian Angel xxxxx

Just to brighten up this post, here's a couple more key fobs. Funky, dunky cars.
Night, night all ....

Awwww, poor Tilly. It's so scary isn't it? A split second is all it takes and when something like this happens, it makes my tummy go all funny.
I hope she'll be fine, and back on that bike again very, very soon.
Lovely key fobs - so groovy.

Oh poor chicken. I hope she is feeling better in the morning. The restorative power of ice-cream is not to be denied. As Princess C-W said once when small and 'injured' - "Bob make it better."
Oh bless her, so glad she wasn't hurt too badly

I am so glad she is okay, I truly believe in gaurdian angels and I also believe in loved ones who have passed on looking out for and loving my nearest and dearest... I understand that many would think me silly, but everyone has their own beliefs to give them comfort in their times of need... I would rather have faith in a person I loved and new in my own lifetime..
Hugs to her and a really big hug to you... she'll probably put you through a lot more in the years to come... We really can only protect them soo much!
X Alex
oh poor little love & poor you bet that gave your heart some excerise!
i'd suggest arnica tablets and cream if you haven't already used them - it really helps with the bruising and is also very good for shock.
hope she's ok in the morning.
Hi Laurie. Poor little Boo and poor you too. It's awful when you an see what's going to happen. Hope she's ok now.
Love your range of products Laurie. They are getting such a distinctive style. Great xx
glad she is ok and that her guardian angel was watching over her x
Thank you so much kind ladies. Boo slept well and seems absolutely fine this morning, albeit very battered. Children are just amazing aren't they.
We said a huge thank-you to our angel last night.
Quiet day today ...

Awww bless her and you, what a stomach turning thignto happen. Just sitting here reading it made mine do a jump.
I'm so glad she was ok and just had a few cuts and scrapes.
Why do these things happen in slow motion? i remember when Daisy was first on her feet and made it out the front door after her daddy and tumbled down the 3 in one hill we used to live on. I can still here her what i thought was head banging on the pavement, thankfully it was her dummy that made the horriable noise and not her face or head. She got off with just a graze and bruise too.
Thank you little angels for watchining over our have ago children lol
Hugs,
Catherine x
Ps, Sorry it's been a while, it's hard to keep up with eeryone in blogland. x
What a shame. Yes, everything does happen in slow motion and you feel completely helpless. We've had a couple of A+E trips as a result of bike falls. 1 of which the cycle helmet saved my son's head! - so scary.
She'll be on the bike again before you know it!
Oh my, it is absolutely heart stopping when something like that happens. I hope she doesn't loose her confidence and gets right back on her bike!
Best wishes and hope you have a lovely weekend,
Nina x
